Pink Shirt Day

Good afternoon room 10 families,

PINK SHIRT DAY - it was an emotional and impactful day.

We watched a video called "I Hate Kate" to learn about the impacts of bullying, you can watch it on YouTube. From this video we realized that we do not yet have the words to properly express our emotions so we spent time building out emotional vocabulary. The kids wanted to share it with you. 😊

We learned that the damage done, the scars left on our hearts, cannot be erased once the bullying has ended, but we can stop them from forming by standing up for victims, by spreading kindness, and by being a friend.

Now that we know what bullying is, we're beginning to learn about why someone bullies and how we can effectively stand up to it to make our world a kinder place for everyone to be.

Please speak to your children about their feelings about today's learning. Remind them that you are their best advocate and that they can always share their concerns with you - we sometimes forget that we do not need to face the tough challenges life throws at us alone. ❤

Have a good evening!
Mrs. B
